KEY POINTS:
* OMFinancial have appointed four new staff to their dealing team. Nigel Brunel has rejoined the company as an equities & derivatives dealer after successfully setting up and running his own trading and technology company; Andy King has also rejoined the company as a dealer in futures and foreign exchange. Prior to joining OMFinancial, Andy has worked for many international Investment houses as an interbank dealer. Jeff Zhuang has been appointed as a client advisor in foreign exchange on their Asian desk. Jeff joins from an online FX trading firm in Auckland and speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Phil Kelliher joins as a private client advisor in their Wellington office. He joins from Westpac where he was involved in various roles from trading to private banking, providing investment advice to the bank's high value clients.
* David Cowdrey has been appointed southern regional representative for ICE AV Technology Ltd to manage the South Island market for its digital daytime screens, iQRite interactive whiteboards and simulation technologies. Cowdrey has over 20 years experience in advertising, print, publishing, design and visual communication. Before joining ICE AV, David held several senior management positions including general manager of Lucas Print.
* Chong Newztel has appointed account manager, Gina Coelho, as a member of its Auckland team. She has worked in both FMCG and hospitality industries for many years managing a diverse client portfolio with the emphasis on long-term business relationship development. Client services manager Gay Elliot joins the Wellington office. Elliot brings experience from the media and communications and client services. Her background includes newspapers and industry magazines.
* Advertising agency M&C Saatchi has appointed Paul Sinclair, former general manager, marketing & communications at SPARC, as the new managing director of its Wellington agency. In his two-year tenure at SPARC, Sinclair has transformed the government agency's profile, more than tripling brand awareness to make it one of the most high-profile organisations in New Zealand.
* MYOB NZ Limited has appointed new general manager business division, Julian Smith. He joins MYOB having held senior management positions at Datasquirt Limited, Restaurant Brands (NZ) Ltd and Coca-Cola Amatil (NZ) Limited.
* Executive Taskforce Group has appointed Jeed Dodds to the position of consultant for Tempforce-Workforce. Dodds has a Bachelor of Business Studies degree majoring in human resources. Executive Taskforce Group has also appointed Gena Sommers to the position of business development manager. Sommers will concentrate on looking for new opportunities for the company, as well as maximising opportunities within the client base. She is currently completing a law degree. Peter Webster is also to join as a consultant for Executive Taskforce. He has over 12 years of experience in the recruitment industry having owned and run Personnel Professionals in New Zealand for 11 years. Peter will specialise in middle to senior managment recruitment, as well as assisting in the placement of high profile senior executive roles.
* Emergent Temporary Resourcing has welcomed Catherine Towns, Kelly Common and Michele Olney to its consulting staff. Towns has over nine years and Common seven years working for an Auckland based specialist temporary recruitment consultancy. Olney has worked for the last three years for a large, multinational full service consultancy specialising in the placement of temporary and contracting accounting and finance staff. Towns, Common and Olney will recruit across the full spectrum of office support roles adding to the service offering provided by the executive leasing team at Emergent & Co.
* Huia Iti has joined manufacturer and marketer of sustainable household and personal care products, ecostore, as its research and development manager. Iti brings a wealth of knowledge to the ecostore team as an experienced chemist and research and development manager, with strong skills in effectively formulating, trialing and manufacturing new products. Most recently he was a research, development and technical manager at Fletcher Building.
* Trans-Tasman law firm, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, has appointed two new senior associates - Karen Haynes and Rachel Colley. Haynes is a company and securities law expert. Rachel Colley is an experienced intellectual property lawyer specialising in both contentious and commercial/transactional intellectual property. She advises on branding strategy, the use and registration of trade marks, design registration, intellectual property infringement, passing off and fair trading disputes, and marketing, advertising and branding issues.
* Janet Sullivan has joined ING New Zealand as recruitment manager. Her previous experience is with Mondo Search, Sheffield Limited, and ANZ Banking Group.
* Patrick Masterson has recently joined IT consultancy Soltius New Zealand Ltd in the position of account manager. He brings to the company extensive experience with SAP and ERP solutions across multiple verticals from a client, consulting and project management perspective. Prior to joining Soltius, Masterson held the position of consulting manager across the Pacific Region for Infor Global Solutions.
* Business Mechanix, which recently opened an office in the Tower Building, Ward Street, Hamilton, has appointed Michael Blake, a former client, as its general manager.
* Martin King has recently started a new business, HR Space Ltd in Auckland. Martin was previously general manager for recruitment consultancy 9am People Ltd.
