Brookfields Lawyers has appointed three senior associates to their Auckland practice. Michael Jones practises in Brookfields' property group, advising clients on property law. Rachel Devine acts for a variety of local government, public and private clients, focusing on a wide range of environmental and resource management issues. Michele Sang practises in the commercial and banking group, advising clients on commercial law, including mergers, acquisitions and commercial contracts.
Two new partners specialising in change management and corporate/investor relations have joined Senate Communications. Marjory Embleton, until recently the chief executive of management consulting company Burleigh Evatt Consulting, will be based in Senate's Wellington office. The second appointment is Kim Palsenbarg, who has run her own consultancy for the past 10 years. Palsenbarg will be in Senate's Auckland office.
Patrick Mulligan has been appointed as partner of national law firm Buddle Findlay. He will head the firm's resource management and local government practice. Buddle Findlay national chairman, Sarah Roberts, says the move recognises the strong growth the company has been achieving in recent years, particularly in the resource management and local government area.
Two management appointments have been announced at Grant Thornton in Auckland. Katherine Hay is the new human resource manager, while Michele Gray is the new marketing manager. Hay was previously part of the HR team at KPMG and Gray joins Grant Thornton from Baldwins Intellectual Property.
Transtasman law firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts has appointed new special counsel Judith Spells, an experienced tax practitioner who advises clients on a wide range of legal tax issues.Since arriving in New Zealand in 2002 she has practised as a solicitor in the Inland Revenue Department and as tax team manager in an Auckland accounting firm.
