Michael Frampton has been appointed the marketing and business development manager for the Electrotechnology Industry Training Organisation. Frampton worked previously as a consultant to the gas and petrochemical industries. He will lead the ITO's strategic marketing effort and new business development.
Gold explorer and producers GRD Macraes has appointed Craig Hook to the position of general manager operations - Macraes Gold Mine. In this newly created position he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and the introduction of continuous improvement systems and processes at the mine. Hook joined GRD Macraes as Manager Mining, shortly after the change to owner mining in mid-2002.
Derek McCormack has been named as the Auckland University of Technology's new vice-chancellor, from April 1 next year. He will replace Dr John Hinchcliff, who led the transition from ATI to AUT. McCormack is at present a deputy vice-chancellor at AUT.
Nicola Emmanuel has joined Brasell and Ojala Spacial Concepts as resident architect. Emmanuel has a background in architecture from the Middle East and has specialised in retail design for large shopping centres. She has also completed many residential projects.
Martelli McKegg Wells & Cormack has appointed three new senior solicitors. Fiona Burton specialises in local government and property, focusing mainly on residential and commercial conveyancing and subdivision transactions. Brigit Morrison specialises in trusts and asset planning. Her expertise extends to preparation of discretionary family and corporate trusts, advising trustees on issues relating to interpretation and trustees' powers and duties. Melissa Higham specialises in commercial matters including business acquisitions, company start-ups and company law matters.
Technology Solutions Company Gen-i has appointed John Bessey as software solutions general manager. Bessey heads the software development team and is responsible for the leadership and growth of new business initiatives. He was most recently general manager for Gen-i Australia.
Relationship Services head Viv Maidaborn has been appointed chief executive officer of CCS, the organisation that provides services for people with disabilities. Wellington-based Maidaborn will take up the position in February.
Nick Carter a solicitor for 10 years with Carter & Partners has been made an associate. Nick specialises in construction, employment and general litigation.
Heather Gordon has been appointed as director of sales and marketing for the Clearwater Resort in Christchurch. Gordon has previously been director of sales for the George Hotel and has had extensive sales and marketing experience in the conference and incentive, inbound and corporate markets. Stuart Crookenden has started a print management company, Metric Print Management. He was with Moore Gallagher as a key account manager for four years.
