KEY POINTS:
* Insurer AIG Life (formerly AIA New Zealand) has appointed Jane Hall to the role of national and key accounts development manager. Hall will use her extensive experience in the highly regulated UK environment to guide advisers through the anticipated regulatory changes to the local industry. AIG Life has also appointed Jeremy Young to the role of head of distribution, with responsibility for the development and deployment of the distribution strategy to the national market of insurance and financial advisers. Young, who was promoted from the role of national sales manager, will ensure that all channels through which AIG Life receives and directs its business are maximised and managed efficiently.
* H G Livingstones has appointed Renee Buckingham to its Auckland office. She joins Livingstones as leasing and property manager. Her responsibilities will include securing tenants for the North Island portfolio of properties, as well as strengthening existing relationships with international and national retailers. Renee previously worked as a retail agent for Match Realty.
* The AA has appointed Rachel Salt to its communications team as external communications consultant. Prior to joining the AA, Rachel worked at Mighty River Power, looking after the company's sponsorship interests. She has also worked at ARTA and the ARC in their marketing and communications teams and Westpac Banks Sydney event management team.
* Following the resignation of David Clarke, Neuren Pharmaceuticals has appointed new CEO, Parmjot Bains. Bains joined Neuren Pharmaceuticals in June 2006 as the COO for Neuren. Parmjot trained as a medical doctor, before moving on to work in Australia as a management consultant for McKinsey and Company. More recently, she worked in senior management positions at Fonterra Cooperative Group.
* Theta Systems has appointed Stuart Penning as service delivery manager. He has many years experience in software development management in a variety of industries, with the most recent being telecommunications, banking and insurance.
* Tu Nuualiitia has been appointed community liaison manager for Westforce Credit Union. A former rugby international, Tu Nuualiitia' prior appointments include serving as general manager of the Village Community Services Trust in West Auckland and CEO of Sport Waitakere.
* 6 Degrees Consulting Group has appointed Heather McLeish as principal consultant for the public sector practice. She has extensive experience in the supply of recruitment and HR consultancy through the public and private sectors, most recently project managing recruitment for ARTA.
