KEY POINTS:
* Don Tilbrook has been appointed president of the New Zealand Contractors Federation. Tilbrook is a director of McKenzie and Parma Limited, a civil construction company in South Auckland, where he has worked for the past nine years.
* Deanne Weir has been appointed a member of the board of the Modica Group. She will bring considerable experience to the role drawing on her current position as group director of corporate development and legal affairs at AUSTAR, an Australian subscription television, internet and mobile provider.
* Auckland International Airport Limited has made a number of senior appointments in the areas of communications, people and performance and information technology and telecommunications. Lucy Powell has been appointed head of communications. Powell joined the company in a contracting role in November 2006. Previously she was communications manager the Americas for Air New Zealand, based in Los Angeles. Judy Nicholl has been appointed general manager people and performance. She joined AIAL in 2006 and has led and managed strategic human resources within several industry groups including primary processing, travel and tourism, education and New Zealand Police. Tony Wickstead has been appointed to the newly created position of chief information officer (CIO). Tony joined Auckland Airport as head of information technology and telecommunications in 2005. He has more than 10 years experience in executive roles within the technology industry in Australia and New Zealand.
* Computing infrastructure provider Revera has made two senior appointments. Raj Narayanan and Nathan Bell have been appointed business development managers. Narayanan joins Revera from IBM, where he held the position of client relationship manager. Bell joins Revera from IT consulting and infrastructure company ATL Systems, where he was a corporate account manager.
* John Dixon has been promoted to head the competition team for Meredith Connell. He has been with the company since 2004.
* David Joyce has been appointed as ihug's new general manager of marketing. Joyce joins the team from Vodafone, where his most recent role was general manager of marketing strategy.
* Warren Rhodes has joined IT consultancy Soltius New Zealand as an account manager. He has an MBA from Auckland University and more than 15 years experience in IT and software sales. He was previously the business development manager at Infor.
* Manpower has appointed Julie Prentice as the national manager for its New Zealand business solutions unit. Julie brings with her experience in industry training gained at Electrotechnology Industry Training Organisation (ETITO), working across the security, contact centre, electrical, ambulance and manufacturing sectors.
* International environmental scientist Dr Stephen Stokes has joined consulting firm Andrew Stewart Ltd (ASL) as a director. Stokes is a former associate professor at Oxford University's Centre for the Environment, and has served on a number of national and international scientific advisory boards. Since returning to New Zealand he was previously Resources and Environmental Manager for Perry Aggregates Ltd in Hamilton.
* Hesketh Henry appointed Helen Macfarlane as a senior associate in the litigation and disputes resolution team. She most recently worked in New York as a litigation attorney for 15 years with US and international law firm Shearman and Sterling specialising in commercial litigation and international arbitration.Susan Pilgrim has also been made a senior associate in the litigation and dispute resolution team. She is a civil litigator and has a breadth of legal experience including working with the Serious Fraud Office and the Privacy Commissioner.
* Alison Maelzer has joined the litigation and dispute resolution team, specialising in employment law as a senior solicitor. She has extensive experience in disciplinary and termination procedures, compliance issues, health and safety investigations and collective negotiations.
* Donna Raynel has recently joined Bachcare Holiday Home Rentals and Management as a holiday consultant based in the Ponsonby office.
* Executive recruiter 6 Degrees has appointed Dean Viall as consultant in the Auckland technical and operations practice. Dean has been successful in delivering recruitment solutions to a variety of engineering consultancies and utilities throughout New Zealand.
* Public Trust has announced the appointment of Cathy Amos to the position of specialist advisor in its Greenlane, Auckland office. Prior to her appointment, Amos was working as a financial advisor for a major finance company and as a new business consultant for a lending institution.
