Forest Research has appointed Richard McLean as general manager of its forestry software business, Atlas Technology. McLean brings more than 25 years' IT industry experience. He has worked in a number of senior executive roles in Australia, the United States and Europe. Most recently, he was chief executive officer of NetMap Analytics, based in Sydney and New York.

DHL Express has appointed Kim Schofield as its Global Customer Solutions Manager, New Zealand. Schofield joins DHL from the position of business manager at TelstraClear. Schofield will oversee both the global account management and logistics teams in the delivery of national, multinational and global end-to-end customer solutions.

Former UDC Finance general manager Brent Knight has joined property financier and investment banker Strategic Finance Limited as an executive director. Knight joins Strategic after a long career in the automotive and asset financing sector both in New Zealand and overseas. Before running UDC Finance Limited, he was general manager for seven years of Esanda Fleet Partners, both of which are owned by the ANZ Banking Group.

Site Safe New Zealand, an independent, not-for-profit, construction-industry organisation, has appointed Peter Attwood and Oliver Pomfrett as safety advisors in the Auckland and Northland regions. Attwood has an extensive practical background in the commercial construction industry with more than 16 years' experience, having spent the past 11 years with Hawkins Construction in Auckland.

Pomfrett holds a degree in environmental health and a postgraduate diploma in occupational health and safety. He most recently worked in London as an inspector for the Health and Safety Executive (Britain's equivalent of OSH) in their construction division.

Global recruitment consultancy, Robert Walters has appointed Joanne Bailey as a recruitment consultant on the Finance Permanent Team in their Auckland Office. Bailey was previously business development manager at Macquarie Investment Services in Auckland and before that held roles at Citibank, London and Chase Manhattan Bank, Dublin.
