Peter Mathews has been promoted to the position of locomotive fleet manager within Alstom Transport Group. He will be responsible for managing Alstom's locomotives and Auckland Tranz Metro maintenance contracts with Tranz Rail. Barrie Englishby has been appointed as commercial manager, responsible for Alstom's three maintenance contracts with Tranz Rail as well as business development. He was previously contracts manager for Mercury/Vector.
Event management company Motivaction has appointed Heather Shaw as director. Shaw has a background in sales and event management and was formerly with the Millennium Sports Institute.
The Christian Children's Fund has appointed Geoff Sharp as manager of marketing development. He was previously with World Vision, where he was the youth marketing manager, running the 40-hour famine.
Property and development company Axis Property has appointed Patrick Daly as general manager. He will be responsible for driving business growth from the existing portfolio of properties, as well as sourcing and assessing new acquisition and development opportunities.
New Zealand-based IT training company Carich has appointed three new staff. Trevor Boyle, formerly of the Central Institute of Technology, has been appointed regional educational manager for the Wellington and Lower Hutt region. Jared Riwai-Couch, who has been with Carich since 1999, has been appointed regional sales and customer services manager for Christchurch. Catherine Jull, former training broker for the New Zealand Industry Training Organisation, has been appointed as regional educational manager for Hamilton.
