Aventine has appointed Maxelyn Tudman business development manager for its SuperLife, Mastertrust and employee benefit products. She previously held sales management roles at Honda and Southern Cross Healthcare. Tudman has also just been elected governor of Zonta International for New Zealand and assumes this role for two years in July.
Helen Currey is joining Donington as career transition manager. Currey has had 10 years' experience in career transition outplacement services and has worked with almost every industry sector. She was previously with DBM.
The principal of Massey University's Albany campus, Professor Ian Watson is retiring. He officially retired at the end of August but will remain as acting principal of the based campus until the end of this year. His replacement has not yet been announced.
The National Heart Foundation has appointed Bruce Davis as its new finance manager. Davis has worked in contract accounting for the past six months. Before that he was finance manager of Daihatsu New Zealand, a position he held for six years. The foundation has also appointed Stewart Eadie into the newly created position of cardiac care (personal) manager. He takes up this job after six years as a senior lecturer in nursing at Unitec.
Flight Centre has promoted Jude Evans to the role of general manager of its retail division, responsible for more than 100 retail stores including all Flight Centre, Great Holiday Escape, Itchy Feet and Travel Associates stores. She takes on her new role from January 1 next year. Evans has been with Flight Centre since 1990, when she worked as a travel consultant at the Newmarket Flight Centre.
The University of Auckland has appointed Professor Alistair Woodward to head the newly established School of Population Health. Woodward has published on a wide range of population health issues, including the links between ethnicity, poverty and mortality rates and the potential health effects of cellphone use. He has been the Professor of Public Health at the Wellington School of Medicine since 1995.
Property maintenance, security, air-conditioning and consultancy company Total Property Services is moving into South Auckland, with Craig Barrass as business development manager. The company already has branches in Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch and Wellington.
