Carter Holt Harvey business Velocit-e has changed its name to Straightedge to match its change of focus to virtual reality software packages for home designers.
The chief executive officer is Darren Wallbank, who before starting Velocit-e last year was general manager e-business for Carter Holt Harvey Wood Products.

James N. Everett is the new managing director, Asia Pacific, for Rayonier in New Zealand and Australia. He has been general manager of Rayonier's medium-density fibreboard facility in Mataura since 2000. He succeeds Timothy H. Brannon, who is returning to the USA to be senior vice-president, forest resources and wood products, at the company's Florida headquarters.
Mark Maddren has been appointed managing director UCMS New Zealand. The appointment follows the UCMS acquisition of New Zealand CRM integration company MSC Solutions.
Craig Hegan has returned to New Zealand to resume his position as managing director of Parker Bridge, the international financial recruitment consultancy. He set up the New Zealand operation in May 1997, and for the past two and a half years has been based in Dublin.

Trudi McConnell has joined i2i imaging in Ellerslie, Auckland, in a business development position. She was previously Bayleys Real Estate marketing services and purchasing manager.
John Speed has become the New Zealand sales manager for the software company JD Edwards. This is his second stint with the company. He was sales manager between 1995 and 1998.
