* Ten lawyers have been appointed senior associates at Simpson Grierson.

Duncan Ferrier has nine years' experience in public law and civil and commercial litigation. Greg Allen has specialised in property law since 1996.

Rebecca Emerson provides advice to corporate clients on property divestment and acquisition, and development issues, including property management and commercial leasing.

Martin Kessick worked for four years in London at the Office of the Treasury Solicitor. He joined Simpson Grierson last year.

Carol McMeekin specialises in sales and marketing, sponsorship and event management, consumer protection, consumer guarantees and privacy and food law.

Raymond Yee is a member of Simpson Grierson's corporate tax group. He advises on all areas of income tax and GST. Michael Bright has considerable experience in commercial matters, with a mergers and acquisitions focus.

Cyndi Brittain advises on and negotiates in corporate transactions and commercial arrangements, IT contracts and intellectual property.

Rob Wood was senior legal counsel and corporate secretary of Countrywide Bank for 15 years. At Simpson Grierson he acts for a number of banks.

Alison Godkin has eight years' experience in construction contracts and dispute resolution.

* Helen Wrench has joined Performance Finance and Leasing as a financial consultant. She has spent seven years in finance and insurance, most recently as finance executive with Avanti Finance.

* Mike Lightfoot, formerly an executive director of the parts operation for the Auckland Auto Collection, has been appointed general manager of Wynn Oil NZ.

* Chris Pirie has joined Insurance Consultants as business development manager, dealing with fire and general insurance. He was previously with Mooney & Associates.

* Business travel specialist Corporate Traveller has appointed Rebekah Herron as marketing co-ordinator. She was most recently with the British Consulate-General in trade promotion services.

* Craig Stephenson has been appointed advertising executive for Employment Today magazine. He was previously with the new business development team at Yellow Pages.

* Bruce Gregory joins Retailworld Resourcing to specialise in executive search for the retail industry. He is a director and senior vice-president of the New Zealand Retailers' Association as well as director for the Retail Industry Training Organisation.

* Public relations and marketing firm Carlin Valenti has appointed Janine Macdonald as an account director, specialising in IT. She has a degree in information technology and graduate diploma in teaching.
