DownerCommspec (formerly Commspec) has appointed Rob Veal as national small to medium enterprise sales manager. He returns to the firm after two years with TelstraClear. John East has been appointed corporate sales manager. Prior to joining Commspec, East spent three years as country manager for Alcatel. Graeme Thomas is the company's national service manager. Its company accountant is Pauline Darley.

Bank of New Zealand has appointed Richard Borrell as head of operational risk. He was previously head of operations for Agribusiness Financial Services. Prior to joining Bank of New Zealand in 1994, Borrell completed a secondment to National Australia Bank as a Regional Agribusiness Manager.

Raveen Jaduram, the general manager of Manukau Water, a business unit of Manukau City Council, has been appointed president of New Zealand Water and Wastes Association. He has worked as an engineer in the New Zealand water industry for more than 17 years.

Kiwi International Digital Systems has appointed Matt Coubrough as graphics applications developer. He joins the firm from London where he worked for broadcast companies TC Soho and Metcom Video.
