Specialist employment law firm Kiely Thompson Caisley has appointed David France as a senior associate.
His practice includes all areas of employment law and industrial relations.
Dr T.H. (Tom) Marshall, OBE, FRNZCGP, has been elected president of the medical profession's principal professional body, the New Zealand Medical Association.
Dr Marshall has run his own general practice in Mt Eden, Auckland, since 1967.
He is also chairman of the directors of ProCare Health, a group of about 300 Auckland general practitioners. Dr John Adams, a Dunedin-based psychiatrist, has been elected association chairman.
The deputy chairwoman is Rotorua GP Dr Trish Briscoe.
Jeff Weber has been appointed general manager health, safety and environment at transport company Tranz Rail.
He has spent the last four and a half years in a similar position at Fletcher Challenge Forests, and has held key positions in strategy and development in both the private and public sectors.
Allanah Gabriel is the new addition to the business development team at the five-star Stamford Plaza Auckland hotel.
She admits she was predisposed to a career in hospitality - both sets of grandparents owned hotels and her father was in the liquor industry.
She will be taking care of a portfolio of the hotel's corporate clients.
