Former newspaper and magazine journalist Sally Woodfield has been appointed to the newly created role of communications manager at The Edge.

She was formerly public relations co-ordinator for the Manukau Institute of Technology.

Hermann Grossbichler is the new executive chef at Hyatt Regency Auckland. Austrian-born, he began his career with Hyatt as a sous chef in Auckland, before moving to hotels in Brunei, Delhi, Korea, Malaysia and, most recently, Manila.

Troy Clarry is the new director of food and beverage at the Hyatt. He was last assistant director of food and beverage at the Grand Hyatt Taipei.

Klaus Woizik is the new director of rooms at the Hyatt. He was last with the Langham Hilton in London. Denise Moller is the new marketing communications manager, and was previously in the same role with Rocom Wireless. Steven McLean becomes director of finance. He was previously commercial manager with Zuellig Pharma.

Paul Lally has been appointed a bookmaker with the TAB.

He was previously operations manager responsible for online services with gambling heavyweight Ladbrokes in Britain.
