Simon Jones has been appointed the new general manager for Carrington Resort A Heritage Hotel. He joins the resort from Omata Retreat in Russell which he and his wife, Lian, managed for the last five years. At Carrington Resort he will be responsible for the running of the hotel, the fine dining room, the conference centre, the Karikari Winery café and the golf course.
Hamilton businessmen, John Birch and Gary Mallard, have launched a new private equity investment fund Central Capital Regional Fund - looking to raise $50M over the next 12 months to invest in Central North Island businesses. Mr Birch is formerly of McClunie Birch and Mr Mallard is director, and former managing director, of NDA Engineering.
Foreign exchange investment company - NZ Currency Concepts - has appointed Paul Martin to the position of senior trader. Prior to joining NZCCY, Paul spent over 12 years working as an FX currency trader primarily with Citibank in London, and Merrill Lynch in both London and Singapore.
Paul Richardson has been appointed to the new position of Chief Investment Officer at BT Funds Management (NZ) Ltd, the investment arm of Westpac. Patrick Middleton, head of Westpac wealth management, said that Paul's appointment was a very positive step in the growth of BT's and Westpac's wealth management business. Paul brings both his technical expertise and the vision and leadership required of this significant role.
Roy Rodriguez has been appointed business development manager for Auckland software developer ProjectPartner.com. Rodriguez joins the company from Intercad, where he was sales engineer, and has extensive experience in sales and engineering roles in the technology and security markets in New Zealand and his native Israel.
