He has established career transitions services for Pohlen Kean, using a national network of career counselling professionals to provide representation throughout New Zealand.
Grant Crowley has been elected president of the Association of Legal Administrators, a 9000-member, international association with headquarters in Illinois, United States, for those involved in law firm management. He succeeds Simon McVie, of Malley and Co, in Christchurch.
Mr Crowley is the group general manager of transtasman intellectual property firm Baldwin Shelston Waters, and works from its Wellington office.
Dean Palmer has taken over chairmanship of the law firm Duncan Cotterill.
A partner in the firm's Christchurch office, Mr Palmer specialises in commercial law.
Scott Moran, in his fifth year with the 1857-established firm, has joined the partnership and will practise in the Wellington office, focusing on commercial, property and intellectual property law.
Certus Consulting Ltd has appointed Paul Merton general manager, sales and marketing.
Mr Merton's most recent roles have been with IBM as the Asia Pacific sales manager for the ICMS customer care and billing product, and with USHA Technology as vice-president of sales for Asia Pacific.
In this newly created position, Mr Merton has responsibility for all Certus sales and marketing activities in New Zealand, Australia and Asia.
