Dr Antony Vriens has been appointed to Sovereign's claims team as senior manager, claims. Vriens had been working as a Clinical Director for HealthWorks, with Southern Cross. He has experience clinically as well as in product development, operations, medical assessments, setting up contracts with medical suppliers and technology development.
NZ Fasteners Stainless has appointed Steve Davies as general manager. Davies has 14 years' international experience in the steel industry including five years specifically with stainless steel. He has worked with BHP, Union Steel and Fagersta Steels.
Continental Car Services has appointed of Mark McDonald as sales manager for Skoda in Newmarket. McDonald, 38, worked at Continental Car Services between 1995 and 2000, before spending three years in the radio industry.
DHL Express has appointed Ellen Minchin to the position of South Island regional manager. Minchin has worked in the freight and courier industry for 13 years. She joins DHL from New Zealand Post. where she held the role of regional sales manager for the express and logistics division.
The University of Auckland has appointed Canadian percussionist Ron Samsom as senior lecturer in jazz at its school of creative and performing arts. Samson has a music diploma from Grant MacEwan College, a bachelor of music in jazz performance from St Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia, and a master of music in jazz performance from McGill University in Montreal.
