Lyn McCurdy has been appointed associate director of Vision Manawatu's Smart Business initiative, the economic development agency for the Manawatu region. McCurdy was previously project manager with Vision Manawatu working on the development of the organisation's Smart Business Acceleration Programme.
Professor Jilnaught Wong has been appointed head of the department of accounting and finance at the University of Auckland Business School. Wong, a graduate of the university and a faculty member since 1981, is a chartered accountant and has been the editor of Accounting and Finance, an Australasian academic journal in accounting and finance.
Kate Anastasiou has been appointed new business development manager at CPO TV Production & Post Production. Anastasiou has trained in post production and more recently worked at The Post House, Wellington on Lord of the Rings.
House of Travel has appointed Zac de Silva as finance director replacing Brent Thomas who was recently appointed as the company's director of retail operations. De Silva has worked in the travel industry for the past decade in various financial positions, predominantly for Flight Centre as its chief financial officer in both New Zealand and Australia.
Wayne Johnston has been appointed general manager, sales and marketing for New Zealand, for South Pacific Tyres (NZ). For the past three years Johnston has had responsibility for development and expansion of the company's marketing and distribution networks.
Flight Centre has appointed Sandy Lyttle as national leasing manager, responsible for managing and growing the company's leasehold portfolio. Lyttle has spent more than six years in the property industry, with extensive experience in lease documentation, negotiating leases and building/tenancy management.
Catherine Enright joins the Auckland office of Chamberlin Doyle & Associates to focus on accounting appointments. Enright has a master's degree in psychology and has worked in both London and Auckland for seven years as a finance/accounting recruiter.
Omnigraphics has appointed Murray Davis as chief executive. Davis was formerly general manager of Val Morgan Cinema Advertising (New Zealand Limited).
Environmental scientist Julia Chard has joined URS Corps' risk practice based in Wellington. After graduating from the University of Canterbury with a bachelor of forestry science degree, she worked for Forest Research for five years.
