Sky City Auckland has appointed Simon Taukiri as restaurant manager for Sky City's revolving restaurant Orbit. With more than 10 years' experience in the hospitality industry, Taukiri will be responsible for the overall management of Orbit restaurant.

Sales recruitment agency Top Dog has appointed Allanah Gabriel as its second recruitment consultant. Gabriel has more than 15 years' sales management experience in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry, most recently as sales manager of the Duxton Hotel, Auckland.

Southern Cross Healthcare has appointed Bronwen Nelmes as northern sales manager, and Debbie Piggott as HR manager, Southern Cross Hospitals and First Health. Nelmes will be responsible for implementing and achieving the organisation's sales strategy and providing leadership and management to a team of sales managers. Piggott will be responsible for providing general and strategic advice, and implementing best practice in all areas of HR for Southern Cross Hospitals and First Health.

St John has appointed Gary Salmon as special projects manager. He will be Auckland based and co-ordinate projects within the northern region and nationally. Salmon has had 12 years as chief executive officer of the organisation's Midland Regional Trust Board, 10 as a volunteer youth leader, six as Wellington district commissioner and six as national director of ceremonies.

Peter Wilkins (left) has been appointed general manager of sales and marketing for Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand, based at the company's headquarters in Porirua. He joined Mitsubishi Motors in 2000. Barry Cullen, previously chief financial officer, has been appointed general manager finance.
