Amanda Murphy has been appointed New Zealand regional manager for the trade and consumer show organiser dmg world media. She has spent the past seven years working with publisher Australian Consolidated Press.

Luigi Cappel has been appointed managing director of the NZ Smartphone and PDA Academy. He was previously wireless computing director for Rocom Wireless.

Bartercard New Zealand has three new faces: Denis Orme (chief executive officer), who has returned from 20 years in the US; James Harwood (national sales manager), who has held that position with Empower and Advantage Group; and Connie Miller (public relations manager), who was formerly the national dealer manager for Sharp Corporation.

US-born Kim Smith has become New Zealand manager of Robert Half New Zealand. She has spent six years with the company overseas.

Sally Weller has been appointed Bell Gully's new business development manager. A qualified lawyer, she previously worked as a relationship manager with WestpacTrust.

Justin Lobb has been appointed general manager sales for the customer relationship management company UCMS Solutions (NZ). He was previously based in Hong Kong where he worked for Pacific Century Cyber Works.

Krista McGill has joined Moore Gallagher in the position of key account manager strategic business. She was formerly with Atlantis Marketing.

Shelley Zucht is the new public relations and events manager for the Stamford Plaza Auckland. She has joined the hotel from Auckland Bridge Climb where she worked as the communications manager assisting in that company's launch.

Chris Drake is the new chief executive officer of the Independent Motor Vehicle Dealers Association, which represents more than 400 licensed motor vehicle dealers and importers. UK-born Drake joined the association in 1999 as member liaison officer based in Christchurch.

Steve Murray has been appointed chief executive officer of Tainui Group Holdings, with responsibility for the management of the tribe's commercial assets. Murray, whose iwi affiliation is Ngati Kuri, was previously a strategic business consultant in Hong Kong for the IT services company EDS.

Andrew Moore is the new managing director of Novartis New Zealand. A trained psychiatric nurse, he comes from Novartis Vietnam, where he was also managing director.

Mansur Zwart has been appointed Microsoft Great Plains' local manager. He was previously line of business manager at Microsoft New Zealand.
