IT consulting and implementation company Certus Consulting has appointed Gary Martini as an account director. Based in Christchurch, Martini will be responsible for managing key South Island accounts and new business development. He has more than 30 years' experience in implementation, managerial and business development roles.
Corporate Traveller has promoted Scott Cleaver to the role of client relationship manager, based in Auckland. His role involves providing support to the company's corporate clients. Cleaver was business development manager for the company's product division.
Tony Maginness has been appointed channel manager at Hanover Group. Previous to this, he was commercial lending manager at one of Hanover's subsidiary companies, Nationwide Finance.
The Methodist Mission has appointed a new, all-woman, management team. Heading up the team are operations manager Gloria Budgen and finance and business support manager Jaclyn Green who are also acting co-general managers. They are joined by human resources/organisational development manager Jan Pickering and development manager Lesley Mynett-Johnson.
National Car Rentals has appointed Phil Jack to the new role of corporate sales manager. Jack re-joins the company after two years in other tourism industry roles. He was previously in a wholesale business development role overseeing the inbound tourist market.
Professor Jim Miller has taken up a new position as professor of cognitive linguistics at the University of Auckland, where one of his research topics will be the analysis of New Zealand English. Miller, who has moved to Auckland from the University of Edinburgh, will focus on spoken New Zealand English, in particular its grammar and the ways in which speakers organise their discourse.
Oracle New Zealand has appointed a data solution architect and a programme manager to deal with the growing demand for the Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Collaboration Suite. As a data solution architect, Nick Lupis' primary responsibility will be to support the implementation of Oracle business intelligence solutions. Don Bell joins the company as a business intelligence and warehouse programme manager.
Engineering and environmental professional services company, URS New Zealand, has promoted four senior staff to expanded leadership roles. Graham Chapman (Auckland) and Don Macfarlane (Christchurch) have been appointed senior principals. URS has also appointed two new principals, environmental scientist Lisa Martin (Auckland) and engineering geologist Nick Eldred (Christchurch).
Mike Alexander has been appointed sales and marketing manager for Kia Motors in New Zealand. Alexander spent 25 years with the Mitsubishi importer in Wellington, where he became marketing director, before moving to his own dealership.
