Fiona Beck has been appointed president and chief executive of Southern Cross Cable Network, replacing Baldo Sutich, who died in March.
Ms Beck comes to Southern Cross from a senior management role in Telecom New Zealand, and has previously held positions within Treasury and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
Already a director of Southern Cross, Ms Beck has an established background as a telecommunications executive.

Rodney Dickens' background as a leading sharebroking and investment banking economist has seen him take up the role of group strategist at ASB Bank.
His new position will involve developing new products, and debt and investment strategies aimed at the corporate and institutional market.
Mr Dickens' career includes time at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and the Bank of England in London as an economist.
He joins a team of three other economists at ASB Bank.

John Moriarty is the new chief executive of the Tourism Industry Association of New Zealand. He comes to the job from Tranz Rail, where he was responsible for products like Tranz Scenic and the Kingston Flyer as group general manager marketing.
Mr Moriarty's immediate focus will be on implementing the New Zealand Tourism Strategy, which will be finalised by the industry in coming weeks.
He has more than 20 years of experience in senior roles in tourism, IT, telecommunications and finance.

DB Breweries has confirmed Mark Jenner as its national marketing manager, responsible for all the company's brands. He has acted in the role since late last year.
Mr Jenner joined the brewery in 1997 after roles including marketing manager for SmithKline Beecham in Britain and with Unilever in Auckland and Wellington. At DB he has separately served as manager of the lager and mainstream categories.
