Julie Rutledge has become business development manager within sales and marketing at the Herald. She was last at Research International NZ as radio research director.

Kim Mundell has become advertising marketing manager within sales and marketing. She joins from Fairfax Business Media in Melbourne and more recently New Zealand. She was the Herald's circulation marketing manager from 1997 to 1999.

Robert J. McQueen has been made professor of electronic commerce technologies at Waikato Management School.

McQueen, who has been at Waikato University since 1988, has a particular interest in the opportunities and issues of applying e-commerce technologies in small and large New Zealand businesses.

Phil Eaton, who comes from the role of Westfield NZ's business development manager, has joined Sky City as business development manager with responsibility for pre-opening strategic planning of the Riverside gaming and entertainment complex in Hamilton. Eric Teokotai has been appointed human resources project manager. He has been with Sky City for six years. Both are based at Sky City in Auckland.

Karen Russell is the new managing director of outplacement and career consultancy at DBM, and will oversee operations throughout its 12 offices in Australia and New Zealand. She has led DBM's New Zealand operations for the past four years.

Tanya Abbott has been appointed overall public relations manager for L'Oreal. She has been with the company for several years, and handled public relations for the consumer products division.

Maggie Gresson is the new executive director of Artists Alliance, established 10 years ago to represent and advance the professional interests of the visual arts sector of Aotearoa/New Zealand. Artists Alliance receives significant financing from Creative New Zealand.

Don Easter has been appointed president of the Asia Pacific South region for EDS Information Solutions, overseeing business in Australia and New Zealand. He will be based in Sydney.

Easter replaces Jim Duffey, who was recently named chief sales officer.
