Alastair Maling has become Villa Maria's group winemaker, overseeing the winemaking of the company's four wineries: Villa Maria Estate (Auckland and Marlborough), Esk Valley Estate (Napier) and Vidal Estate (Hastings). He comes from International Wine Services in Britain.where he was responsible for managing winemaking projects in Europe and South America.

Jeff Shearer, general manager of the Heritage Auckland, has been appointed general manager group development of the Heritage Hotel chain in New Zealand. He will retain his current role in addition to the new one.
