Grant Thornton New Zealand, an accounting, tax and business advisory firm, has announced three senior appointments. Christchurch senior partner Trevor Thornton has been named chairman of Grant Thornton New Zealand. He has been with the firm since 1984 and works closely with a range of companies to improve business performance and strengthen management and governance procedures.
The Auckland firm has appointed Wayne Jackson to the role of chief executive. Mr Jackson has most recently been a senior partner and director of Ernst and Young's business advisory practice.
Murray Brewer has been appointed to the Taxation Consulting division in the Auckland firm. He joined Grant Thornton in 2004 and has a background in corporate tax consulting, with particular experience in domestic and international tax issues.
Derek Holt has been appointed as a client manager with Beyond Recruitment Auckland. In 2005 Derek moved into recruitment where he has worked as a director, recruitment manger and client manager in the Auckland IT market.
Fidelity Life has appointed Carol Saxton as business development manager based in Wellington, effective from June. She was previously a business development manager with AMP. Saxton replaces Darron Connelly who will relocate to Tauranga in July.
