KEY POINTS:
* Mark Newcombe has been appointed national sales manager for Bartercard New Zealand. For the past ten years he has been in a senior sales and events role in the direct selling industry, managing a large sales force.
* Four new members were elected to the Newmarket board of the Auckland Citizens and Ratepayers Association - clockwise from top left - Beau Beech (Westfield 277), Jonathan Macdonald (Unichem Broadway), Mark McDonough (Zarbo Delicatessen and Café), and Stephanie Nossiter (Techbooks).
* Barfoot & Thompson has appointed Tim Carter as the company's new auction manager. A new full time auctioneer - Tony Loughran - has also been appointed. He brings a wealth of experience to the team and will be a regular in the auction rooms.
* An America's Cup syndicate lawyer has returned to practice in New Zealand with Bell Gully. Senior associate Gillian Williams left Bell Gully three years ago to join BMW Oracle Racing in Valencia as a legal adviser. A keen racing sailor who did an Olympic campaign in the Europe dinghy, Gillian was involved in advising on diverse legal aspects of the BMW Oracle challenge including agreements and contracts, the tax and immigration aspects of locating the team in Spain, and Americas Cup rules compliance and disputes.
* Lynda Goston is an experienced lawyer who has recently joined H2R Consulting. Lynda was a senior consultant with a leading New Zealand legal recruitment company where she specialised in recruiting lawyers for law firms and inhouse roles. At H2R Consulting Lynda now specialises in recruiting for the health, HR and government industries.
* Barry Smedts has been appointed as registrar of the new Immigration Advisors Authority. Smedts headed Auckland City Council's Regulatory Services and has previously worked as an Area Manager for IRD. He takes up the role of registrar in October.
* Telecom Rentals Limited (TRL), leasing arm of Telecom New Zealand Group, has appointed Dragan Gasic as business development manager. He was previously client manager at Gen-i New Zealand Enterprise.
* Theta Systems Limited has recently appointed Dan Mandich as relationship manager. Dan has 16 years of experience in the IT industry with his most recent role as a solutions architect.
