Fergus Small has been appointed the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's new general manager of the Quarantine Service, based in Wellington. He joined the service 30 years ago, overseeing the creation of the quarantine detector dog programme.

Rod Marler has become Westfield New Zealand's design general manager. He was last a group director responsible for Hames Sharley's New South Wales office in Sydney.

Anthony Cooke has joined First Health as new ventures manager. He was previously ambulatory services manager at the Auckland District Health Board.

Richard Briggs is the new enterprise channel manager for Alcatel NZ. He was previously Telecom's national dealer channel manager.

Anna Ouwerkerk has been appointed business development manager for the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor in Wellington. She has worked with Norfolk Island Tourism.

Neville Bamford is the new business development manager at law firm Duncan Cotterill, and will be based in Christchurch. He was last with HSBC in Auckland.

Mike Lancaster has been appointed general manager of Wired Country, Counties Power's new open access broadband network. He has been in telecommunications for 19 years, most notably as a vice-president with AT&T in Taiwan.

Stu Hinds and Simon Morgan have been appointed creative director and general manager, respectively, of Publicis Rainger. Peter Hunt has become a team leader.
