Cheryl Cleary is consultancy MWH's new group manager for environmental and planning. She was previously with Harrison Grierson and is vice-president of the New Zealand Planning Institute. John Greenwood has become senior project manager, transportation. He was last with City Design, where he was principal consultant, roading and transportation.

Senior engineering geologist Kevin Hind has transferred home to Auckland from the Perth office of engineering and environmental management company URS, where he has spent a decade.
The company's water and waste group has gained three new engineers: South African Riaan Barnard, a civil engineer, who has been working on water resource-related projects in New Zealand; Tom Joseph, a water resources engineer who has worked in two of URS's United States offices; and senior environmental engineer Helen Shaw, who has project experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

The URS structural group has two new structural engineers: Jeff Mellor, from the United States, who has worked for companies such as General Electric, Boeing and Hewlett-Packard; and Macedonian immigrant Julijana Gorgievska, who has spent the last six years working on industrial, commercial and residential structural projects in Auckland and Sydney.
Keith Thompson, a new mechanical engineer originally from Northern Ireland, has worked on design engineering projects across a range of industries including energy and telecommunications in England and New Zealand.
