Jan Dawson is KPMG's new managing partner in Auckland. She has been a partner in audit and risk management for 16 years, and is chairman of the KPMG board of directors, national risk manager and a member of the KPMG national banking and finance committee.

Gordon Price has become a partner in Grant Thornton Chartered Accountants. Gordon joined the firm in 2000 and heads the tax consulting service line.

Jan Jameson has been appointed laboratory manager for Auckland's Diagnostic Medlab. She began her career as a physiotherapist and has wide experience at senior management level in the health sector and related industries.

Melani Anae is the new director of the Centre for Pacific Studies at the University of Auckland. She was a lecturer in anthropology in 1998 and 1999 and in Pacific studies since 2000.

The new unit manager of Hamilton's water and wastewater treatment plants is Marcus Shipton, who was last at North Shore City Council as process controller. Grant Feringa has been appointed the new design services manager, and was last the streets and traffic engineer manager within the design services unit.

Ken Perrin has been appointed general manager of Dataprint. Previously he was database market manager at Moore Gallagher.
