Tim Blake has been appointed as Lyttelton Port Company's new marketing manager.
He has 15 years' experience in business development and implementing customer relationship management, including senior positions with Chapman Tripp, KPMG, Caltex New Zealand and several British and US-based divisions of Texaco.
Law firm McMahon Butterworth has made Michael Thornton a partner. Thornton, who joined the firm in May to head up its litigation team, has been a litigation lawyer for more than 15 years in Auckland, Wellington and Britain.
Martin Wylie has become general manager of newly created Honda Marine, which markets Honda Outboards in New Zealand. Wylie spent 10 years with Carter Holt Harvey Roofing as sales and marketing manager, and has also owned his own property development company and a scaffolding company. David Smith, who was Product Manager of Honda Outboards for Power & Marine, becomes technical Manager for Honda Marine.
Colliers International is expanding its Christchurch office, with two new appointments and two internal promotions. Property law specialist Brent Bailey joins the commercial investment team, working across all areas. David Aubrey has been appointed as a motel broker. He has 13 years' involvement in the motel industry from hands-on operator, to current freehold owner. Howard Smith, previously a research analyst at Colliers, is now specialising in industrial leasing while Carla Bailey has been appointed executive assistant to the industrial division.
Lake Wanaka's Edgewater Resort has made two new appointments in reservations and sales and marketing. Based in Auckland, Trish May has been appointed to a part-time business development role. And with more than six years' hospitality experience, Nicola Calteaux now heads up the reservations team as reservations manager.
Engineering and surveying consultancy Fraser Thomas has promoted Richard McLean to associate in its civil and infrastructure engineering division and Stephen Eagle to principal in its overseas division. Chris Kitson has been appointed planner, working in the South Auckland office and with associated company, Barry Satchell Consultants in Epsom.
Tourism Holdings has appointed Steve Pickering as electronic commerce manager - information technology, based in Auckland. He was previously brand manager for Tourism Holdings' rentals division in Melbourne. In his new role Pickering will co-ordinate the e-commerce strategy across the Tourism Holdings group of companies.
