KEY POINTS:
* Kensington Swan have made a number of new appointments.
Rodney Craig has been promoted to partner in the corporate advisory team. He advises on all aspects of corporate and commercial law.
Neil Millar has been promoted to partner in the corporate advisory team. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions and has broad experience in all areas of corporate and commercial law.
Chris Parke has been promoted to partner in the corporate advisory team. He has experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and divestments for both local and overseas clients.
Duncan Halliwell has been promoted to senior associate in the construction (infrastructure) team. Halliwell advises clients on all aspects of construction law.
Blair Edwards has been promoted to associate in the employment team. He advises on the full range of employment law issues, including health and safety, accident compensation and personal grievances.
Natalie Burry has been promoted to associate in the corporate and commercial team. She advises on corporate and commercial matters including the sale and purchase of businesses and undertaking due diligence.
Marilyn Wright has been promoted to associate in the corporate & commercial team. She advises on all aspects of corporate and commercial law.
Rachel Young has been promoted to senior associate in the corporate and commercial team. Young has a wide range of experience advising clients on commercial and information technology matters.
Elizabeth Johnston has been promoted to associate in the corporate and commercial team. She has experience in providing tax advice to all types of clients from individuals to large corporates.
Angela Johansson has been promoted to marketing director. Over the last three years Angela and her team have significantly increased the market profile of Kensington Swan.
* SEEK Limited has appointed Annemarie Duff as New Zealand general manager. Duff has had extensive experience in the media sector, primarily at TVNZ and CanWest where she held roles that included director of marketing, general manager of programming and sales director. She has also held the general manager position at EVentures.
* New Zealand industrial services and distribution operator Rakino Group has promoted Kingi Pikaahu to the position of branch manager, Hirepool Energy based in Auckland. Pikaahu, previously a key account manager has been with Hirepool for 17 years, starting as a branch mechanic, then moving to the scaffolding division.
* Cook Executive Recruitment has appointed Teresa Curd as an associate director. Curd joined the recruitment industry in 1993 after a 12-year career in accounting and audit within the Fletcher Challenge group.
* Former SKYCITY Queenstown Casino general manager Mary Whelan recently moved to SKYCITY's flagship site as the Auckland casino's new VIP manager. Whelan joined SKYCITY in 2004 as Adelaide's VIP services manager, going on to manage the international business team in Melbourne, before being appointed SKYCITY Queenstown general manager in May 2006.
* Staples Rodway has today appointed Roger Thompson to the position of managing director in its Auckland office. He replaces previous managing director Peter Guise who is standing aside after spending 13 years in the role. Peter will continue to act as Chairman of Staples Rodway New Zealand and service his existing client base. Thompson started at Staples Rodway in 1994 and has more than 25 years of experience, specialising in international property and corporate taxes, and the structuring and management of family trusts.
* MedTech Global has appointed two management staff. Sanjeewa Samaraweera has joined as the general manager of strategic projects. He has a bachelor of computer science from the University of Auckland and has held senior roles at Unisys and Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Reena Bose has been appointed financial controller. She holds a bachelor of business administration, masters in accountancy, diploma in finance and is a Certified Accountant. She has held previous roles with Oberoi Hotels, Citibank and Ernst & Young.
* Law firm Bell Gully has elected Roger Partridge as its new chairman. He has been a litigation partner since 1992 and has been head of the firm's litigation department since 2004. He has served on the firm's Board for seven years. Roger takes over from fellow partner David Simcock who returns fulltime to the firm's tax practice.
* Flight Centre New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of Jared Baker to the position of retail general manager. Originally from Timaru, Baker has been with Flight Centre Limited since 1999, starting his career as a travel consultant while on his OE in Surrey. Most recently he was retail general manager for Flight Centre UK.
