Jeff Travers has been appointed as managing director, Ericsson New Zealand. He has spent the past seven years as CEO/managing director of Ericsson companies in Libya, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Most recently, he has been managing the upgrade of a mobile network to expand the network from 250,000 subscribers to a 2.5 million capacity.
Jeremy Hope has been appointed as sales manager, multimedia and systems integration for Ericsson; a newly formed position to drive multimedia sales for New Zealand operators and new media customers.
Hope joined Ericsson New Zealand in 2002 as strategic marketing manager.
Grove Avocado Oil has appointed a new chief executive. Liz Muller has commenced her role at Grove's Te Puna, Bay of Plenty base, and succeeds Brian Richardson, who will remain on the board of the privately owned company. Prior to joining Grove, Muller held roles at Anchor Products and Watties Frozen Foods and then Taura Natural Ingredients Ltd as general manager, responsible for its European and Australasian businesses.
The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) has appointed Garry Macdonald, the project and technical director of environmental engineering at Beca, was elected IPENZ Vice President. Macdonald, who has been with Beca for 19 years, has worked in the fields of environmental and wastewater engineering in New Zealand and internationally for over 30 years. He has received distinguished national and international awards for his services to water and the environment.
