Ballance Agri-Nutrients has appointed Dean Nikora as a director. He replaces Bryden Lane, who has retired after 12 years on the co-operative's board.

John Roberts has been appointed as director of Snowplanet, the Silverdale-based leisure and property company. Roberts is a member of the Institute of Directors and was previously CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi's New Zealand operations, CEO/regional director of Saatchi & Saatchi Asia-Pacific as well as group managing director of advertising agency McCann Erickson.

Andrew Clark has been appointed the new engineering practice manager for the Institution of Professional Engineers. Previously Clark worked at the New Zealand Water Environment Research Foundation where he was a research project co-ordinator.

First Mobile National has appointed Terence Delaney as its first non-executive director to the boards of its New Zealand and Australian companies. Delaney has more than 30 years in retail, previous directorship experience and strategic planning. He has been the CEO of Farmers Trading Company, an executive director of The Warehouse and most recently group manager retail for New Zealand Post.

Paul Chapman has been appointed chief executive of St Laurence Mortgages. Before joining St Laurence in 2001 he held senior positions within the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and KPMG.
