Steve Lawrence is a new associate of insolvency specialist McDonald Vague. He has spent the last 13 years as liquidations manager with Ferrier Hodgson, Auckland.

Martin Dealy, chairman of Register of Engineers for Disaster Relief New Zealand (RedR NZ) and Neil Mander, director, were honoured by being promoted from members to fellows of Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) at its recent convention in Hamilton.

Infrastructure engineer Richard Holyoake is one of four new shareholders of engineering consultancy Beca Carter Hollings and Ferner. Joining him is geotechnical group manager John Marsh, project management team leader Peter Burgess, and mechanical engineering manager Andrew Campbell.

Duncan Stuart, the director of Kudos Organisational Dynamics, has been recognised by the Market Research Society of NZ by being elected the first Fellow of the society.

Kaylene Hurley has been appointed national advertising manager for New Zealand Woman's Weekly. She was last at ACP where she was key account manager.

Commercial and property lawyer Matthew Ockleston has become an associate of law firm Clendon Feeney. He joined the firm in December 2000.

Brian Leigh has been appointed key account manager for Vandelay Consulting. He has previously held positions in the education and hospitality sectors.

Glenn Ashwell has joined fund manager Fisher Funds Management as general manager. Before joining he spent five years with Tower Trust.

Bill Wilkinson has joined KPMG's financial services assurance practice in Auckland. Formerly a partner with KPMG in Bristol, he has recently transferred to KPMG in New Zealand.

Kate Alexander is one of four new appointments at Auckland PR consultancy Pead PR. Appointed account director, Alexander is a former radio journalist who has been 10 years in the PR industry. Emma Norton has been appointed account manager. She is formerly a news producer at TVNZ's nzoom.com web site. Genevieve Abbott, a graduate of Auckland University of Technology's bachelor of communications studies, becomes junior account executive. Also appointed junior account executive is Anna Calver, who has just completed a post-graduate diploma in PR and communications at AUT.

Christchurch-based Simon Gatward is one of two new Rocom Wireless business development managers. He has previously held similar roles with Vodafone NZ and iTouch. Glenna Watkins, based in Auckland, comes from a sales background with Media Entertainment Group and Carpet One.
