Sorensen Group has appointed Ben Dutton account manager, Auckland. Co-founder and former publisher of the New Zealand equities information website ShareChat, Dutton most recently spent two years working for Solution 6 Iguana. He has a BA in political science. Jane Kelway has joined the company as account executive, Wellington. She has a bachelor's degree in law and arts, and experience in specialist research in family and land law. She will focus on corporate and litigation communications.

Hamilton City Council has appointed Roger Ward Roads and Traffic Manager.

Professor Steven Cahan has joined the department of accounting and finance at the University of Auckland Business School as professor of financial accounting. Cahan is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand and is a past president of the Accounting Association of Australia and New Zealand.

Navman NZ has appointed Shane Dufaur vice president of its personal and car navigation division. Dufaur, a graduate of the University of Auckland's Engineering School, was general manager of the Oilfield Services division in Kuwait. During his two years at the company's Texas-based technology centre he built a US$14 million internet data and information delivery business.

Flight Centre has appointed Cathy Hamilton as business development manager for its corporate division. She comes from Launchpad - the Employment Scholarship Trust where she was the Christchurch regional co-ordinator.
