KEY POINTS:
* Hudson has appointed Peter de Boer as the new general manager of its Wellington practice. He has been with Hudson and its predecessors since 1995. Most recently he was Hudsons regional general manager for Greater Western Sydney.
* Samsung Electronics New Zealand has appointed Craig Hastings as the new national account manager of its Vodafone relationship. Hastings has more than a decade's experience in the mobile phone industry, including five years as country manager for Alcatel Mobile Phones in New Zealand. He was also sales and marketing director for satellite navigation market leaders Benefon Oyj in the United Kingdom and Europe.
* Lauchlan McLean has joined ZESPRI International as marketing and branding director, a newly-created specialised consumer marketing role. Based at head office in Mount Maunganui, McLean will lead ZESPRI's investment in global marketing, branding and product innovation. McLean was most recently head of strategy and planning for Cadbury Schweppes New Zealand. ZESPRI has also appointed Katherine Mason to the position of organisational development director, based in Mount Maunganui. Mason has extensive experience managing business improvement projects within NZ Post, British Telecom, London Transport and most recently Johnson & Johnson, where she led projects covering recruitment, training, development and sales force effectiveness.
* Variety The Childrens Charity has appointed a new board member - Andrew Webster, general manager, legal for SKYCITY Entertainment Group.
* Theta Systems is delighted to announce the appointment of Kathleen Tsao as a business intelligence and data warehouse consultant. Kathleen has experience in the utilities sector.
* Bell Gullys corporate practice has gained the expertise of two senior lawyers returning to New Zealand from the UK.
Jamie Durham and Nichola Williams have joined the firms corporate team in Auckland.
Jamie is a corporate and commercial lawyer, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and other capital markets transactions. He has spent the past four years working in the general securities group of Allen & Overy's international capital markets team in London.
Nichola's expertise is also in acquisitions and disposals, as well as in corporate governance, listings and secondary capital raisings. She has been working as a corporate lawyer in Dublin and London for the past five years, advising UK and international clients on a range of transactions, with a particular emphasis on initial public offers on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
* Stuart Dowling has been appointed business development manager for RIS Insurance Brokers in Takapuna. He has had many years experience in commercial and marine insurance both as an underwriter and broker and will focus on new business opportunities. Stuart previously worked at C&G Rothbury in Takapuna.
* RadioWorks has appointed leading radio sales manager Paul Hancox to the position of general manager national sales, based in Auckland. With over 15 years in the industry, Hancox has most recently been general sales manager at NewstalkZB and Radio Sport in Auckland.
* Insurer AIG Life (formerly AIA New Zealand) has appointed Andy Brown to the role of head of AIA Financial Services Network. Brown has a 25-year background in the insurance industry, beginning as an adviser in New Zealand and spending seven years in Hong Kong, where he most recently served as chief distribution officer for a large multinational corporation.
Insurer AIG Life has also appointed Andries van Graan to the role of director of national sales, with responsibility for the national sales team and its sales objectives and adviser relationships. He was promoted from the role of senior regional manager and joined AIG Life in early 2007 after immigrating from South Africa.
* Transfield Services (NZ) Ltd has appointed Tim Lusk and Lloyd Kavanagh as the basis of the company's Board of Advisors.
Lusk comes to Transfield Services as a current director of Meridian Energy and the chief executive officer of The Marram Trust.
Recently Kavanagh has been an associate director of Fonterra Co-op Group - specialising in mergers and acquisitions and leading successful projects in Australasia, Europe and Latin America.
* Canon New Zealand has appointed Kim Conner as the new general manager of the company's Consumer Imaging Products Group (CIPG). Her appointment fills the position previously held by Craig Manson, who is now managing director, Canon New Zealand. Conner has worked for the last five years with Schwarzkopf Professional, firstly as a national sales manager and over the last three years as general manager.
* Engineering consultancy Maunsell has announced the appointment of Dean Kimpton and Andy Olsen to two of the international company's most senior executive positions.
Kimpton is Maunsell's new regional director for New Zealand. He started with Worley (now Maunsell) in 1992 as an environmental engineer.
Former New Zealand and Asia managing director, Andy Olsen will head up Maunsell's Queensland business in Australia with 750 staff and a 2006 turnover of approximately NZD$150 million.
