Law firm Chapman Tripp has promoted six new principals; Jackie Floyd (Auckland), Nick Lough (Wellington), Clare Sinnott (Wellington), Catherine Somerville (Auckland), Tim Tubman (Auckland) and Jeff Walters (Wellington). Floyd specialises in corporate and commercial law and has extensive experience in the energy industry, Lough specialises in corporate and commercial law, Sinnott specialises in environmental and resource management law,Somerville specialises in environmental and resource management law, Tubman specialises in corporate and commercial law, and Walters specialises in commercial property and construction law.
The Bank of New Zealand has made several key appointments. Dave Taylor is the new New Zealand credit director (risk management) and will be responsible for assessing and analysing transactions. Taylor has worked for BNZ for over 30 years. Fiona Cooper-Clarke has been appointed head of corporate relations (people, culture and corporate relations). She joined BNZ from Fonterra where she was general manager trade strategy. She will be responsible for leading internal and external communications, sponsorship and public relations. Howard Blackwell is now head of operational risk and compliance, and is responsible for ensuring operational risk is managed throughout the company and assessing risk for projects and change initiatives. Prior to this he worked in operational risk roles in the UK. .

In the Monday career story entitled 'Stopping a tern for the worse' we quoted Tony Beauchamp saying there are currently 30 pairs of fairy terns in the Northland Conservancy. There are in fact just 30 birds.
