Public relations firm August.One has made two new appointments and an internal promotion. Emma Thompson, previously of Porter Novelli, has been appointed as account director and Jude Cooney, who has completed a postgraduate Diploma in Communications and Public Relations, has joined as account executive. Kasia Ciszak, who has been with August.One for two years, has been promoted to account manager.

Andrew Walker has joined merchant banker Clavell Capital, having returned from completing an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in the United States. Walker previously worked as a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, specialising in the aerospace and defence sector.

Ericsson Enterprise Systems has appointed Neil Wainstein as sales consultant, based in Auckland. Wainstein was previously a business consultant for GDC Communications. Ericsson Enterprise Systems has also appointed Fraser Richards as sales consultant. Based in Wellington, Richards will focus on developing new business opportunities in the Wellington region.

Auckland Museum has appointed Australian James Dexter to the role of head of public programmes. He will oversee the museum's core activities of exhibitions, education, interpretation and sales and marketing. Dexter was assistant director of the Museum of Victoria.

Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation has appointed Nicholas Glanfield to head the company's strategic sales effort in New Zealand. As Teradata's sales general manager, Glanfield will be based in Auckland.

Export New Zealand has appointed Bob Walters as chief executive, a role he will take up at the start of October.

Andrew Cunningham has been appointed director of Auckland textile manufacturer Autex Industries. Over the past eight years, Cunningham has been instrumental in new product development. Mark Robinson has been appointed as deputy CEO of Autex Industries. He has spent five years as the company's managing director of Australian Operations.

Flight Centre (NZ) has appointed Vicki Clague as contracting manager, to negotiate contracts with key air and land suppliers. Clague has been with Flight Centre Ltd for three years as general manager for wholesale division, Infinity Holidays.
