Stacey Thorpe has been appointed director of marketing, Australia and New Zealand at Visa International. Thorpe replaces Christopher Taylor, who moves to Singapore to take up the role of regional head of sponsorship and alliance marketing.

Andrew Grenfell has been appointed to the position of director at Auckland-based corporate advisory firm McGrathNicol+Partners.
Since joining McGrathNicol+Partners as associate director last year, Grenfell has been involved at a senior level in the restructuring and administration of the New Zealand operations of a major, listed, Australian mining company in voluntary administration.

Eye Institute has appointed Barbara Cable as its business manager. She joins Eye Institute from MedTech Global, where she was client support manager and managed sales coordination; involving training, installations and client support for a leading general practice management system.

Giles Ellis joins financial and investment planning firm Macquarie as CFO, replacing Mary Crawford who is returning to Australia. Prior to this, Ellis was with Deutsche Bank in Britain.

Sarah White has been promoted to team manager of the commercial accounting temporary division of recruitment firm Parker Bridge. Emma Calderon has been promoted to team manager of the commercial accounting permanent division. The firm has also appointed Alex Carroni and Charlotte Billington to the permanent commercial accounting team as recruitment consultants.

Eddie Jack, Corporate (Auckland): Jack's practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, securities law, contract law and general company and commercial law. His work experience has included advising clients on significant transactions in the forestry, dairy, information technology, utilities and fisheries industries.
Brad Kidd , corporate (Wellington): Kidd practises in corporate and commercial law, with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, listed company transactions, corporate finance and securities. He has also been involved in a range of commercial transactions, including joint ventures and private equity investments, and has experience in advising listed entities on Listing Rule and securities law compliance.
Clinton Lawgun, corporate (Auckland): Lawgun advises clients ranging from SME's to large corporates (including listed entities) on mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and joint venturing arrangements, public offers, contract negotiation and drafting and regulatory compliance.
Mark Nicholson , property (Auckland): Nicholson acts for a wide range of clients including development companies, institutional investors, charitable trusts and major corporates on a wide variety of commercial property transactions. The main focus of his practice is property development and acquisition work. Jane Parker corporate (Wellington): Parker practises commercial and corporate law advising on a range of transactional and general commercial matters, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing and corporate governance.
