KEY POINTS:
* Kidicorp has recently made two appointments to strengthen its management team. Jo Glen has been appointed group manager for the Wellington region. Jo is responsible for 10 centres and one of her tasks is to build the reputation of Best Beginnings and Early Years. Jo has over 16 years experience in frontline management within a service industry environment.
Katrina Scopas (right) has been appointed Kidicorp's operations manager. Previously general manager of Photo Corporation of New Zealand, Scopas brings experience in multi-site operations management including project management, training and development and expenditure reviews.
* Barfoot & Thompson is pleased has announced the appointment of three new branch managers, as well as the opening of dual residential and commercial offices in Manukau.
Brett Trigger is the manager of the Manukau residential branch which recently opened for business in Cavendish Drive. Brett has transferred from his previous role as an auctioneer at Barfoot & Thompson's head office to take on this challenge. Peter Churchill is heading the new South Auckland commercial branch. Peter has a list of South Auckland commercial developments to his credit and has moved to the branch from City Commercial. Cheryl Whiting has been appointed the manager of Barfoot & Thompsons Parnell branch. Cheryl joins Barfoot & Thompson from Premium Real Estate.
* Touchpoint has made three senior appointments to support new offices in Sydney and Melbourne spearheading business expansion in Pacific Rim markets.
Frank van der Velden (right) has been appointed chief executive officer. He co-founded Touchpoint in 2001 has a 20-year track record in business formation and management, and holds a range of directorships, currently in brand and product development companies.
Steve Shearman (right) has been appointed chief technology officer. Shearman, with van der Velden, co-founded Touchpoint in 2001, following nine years' experience in senior IT internet software and product development roles.
Peter Hunter (right) has been appointed general manager, international. Responsible for Touchpoint's international offices and partner outreach, Hunter most recently held the role of group account director, responsible for Touchpoint's account strategy, planning and new business development. He has an extensive track record in in multi-channel integration and electronic marketing strategy, working for both technology vendors and advertising agencies.
* Porter Novelli New Zealand has announced the appointment of three senior staff members Alex Mercer (executive director), Brent Melville (senior account director) and Mark Revington (senior account manager).
Mercer brings to Porter Novelli more than 10 years experience in ICT and corporate communications worldwide. Prior to consulting, she was charged with leading Microsoft Corporations Worldwide PR team and public sector/citizenship PR team, based in Washington. Melville joined the Porter Novelli team in August, relocating from South Africa. He brings with him a background specialising in corporate communications, investor relations and issues management in the banking, finance and professional services sectors. Most recently he was a founding member of Orca Communications in Cape Town. Revington brings with him over 21 years experience as a senior journalist. Prior to taking up his appointment at Porter Novelli, Mark was deputy editor at Unlimited Magazine, and web editor and writer at the Listener.
* Amon Nunns returns to Bell Gully Wellington after three years as a corporate finance lawyer in New York and London. He has been with major firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP since 2004 where his work principally involved acting for major investment banks in the issuance and sale of debt and equity securities and acting for private equity firms in the management of mergers and acquisitions. Nunns will be focussing on securities offerings, public and private acquisitions, and corporate reorganisations as part of Bell Gullys corporate team.
* World Vision New Zealand has announced the appointment of Michael Sheppard as its new ethnic communities ambassador. Sheppard already has relationships with people from many of the countries World Vision is working in. He represented World Vision at the New Zealand Diversity Forum Programme and was a member of The Refugee Association and the former President of the combined Ethnic Minority/United Party.
* APN New Zealand is pleased to announce the promotion of Alex Lawson to national sales manager. Lawson joined APN in December 2006 after a year at Mediaedge:cia where he ran the Noel Leeming Group account, and prior to that, six years at MediaCom in the UK as media group head working on accounts such as VW and Sky TV.
Lawson's new role was previously managed by Geoffrey Dickman, whose contract comes to an end on Friday, November 9. Dickman leaves APN to take a senior role at AGM Publishing.
Other new appointments include Gaye Blomfield, promoted to group sales manager for Presspak, and Andy Hammond to agency group sales manager.
* Business software developer and integrator Enprise has made two senior appointments. Jason Langley (right) has been appointed marketing manager for the Enprise group of companies. He has a 13-year track record in IT hardware and software development and sales and was most recently account manager at Terabyte.
Sonia Elliot (right) has been appointed sales manager, Enprise New Zealand. Responsible for sales of Exonet and SAP Business One, she has 15-year track record in ERP sales and consulting. Elliot was most recently business development manager at business intelligence and data warehousing provider Indigo.
* Harcourts New Zealand has recently employed Stephen Johnson into the newly created role of franchise development manager / group auctioneer. A former Auctioneer of the Year, Johnson's primary focus at Harcourts is on recruiting new sales consultants and assisting with opening new offices in the Auckland region.
* Trans-Tasman law firm, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, has promoted Ms Danielle Norrie to the position of senior associate in the Auckland real estate division. An experienced commercial property lawyer, Danielle has broad experience in New Zealand and the UK advising on a range of property matters.
