The Television Commercial Approvals Bureau (TVCAB) has announced that Julia Turner has been appointed to the newly created role of head of approvals. Turner has been with TVCAB for over ten years and previously held a number of positions at TVNZ. As head of approvals she will be responsible for ensuring the consistency of TVCAB's commercial vetting and classifications system and its ongoing evolution.
Shelley Eastwood has been appointed the new group conference and incentive sales manager for heritage hotel management. Canadian born, Shelley has most recently been working for the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel in British Columbia, where she was a conference sales manager for five years. She has qualifications in conference management and sales promotion. She also has over a decade of experience in conferences and began her career at Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort. She will be responsible for sales for the entire Heritage Hotel Management conference venue portfolio, including the new Icon conference centre at Heritage Queenstown and Carrington Resort A Heritage Hotel, the most recent addition to the group.
Murray Jordan has been appointed to the role of general manager - retail sales and performance at Foodstuffs (Auckland) Ltd. He will be responsible for all elements of retail brands and formats, as well as contributing to the overall strategic direction of Foodstuff's brands, store development and managing retail processes. Murray moves into the role from general manager - property development, which he held for four years. He takes over from Mark Baker, who will remain with Foodstuffs until March 2009.
New Zealand's leading car sales channel, Turners Auctions, has appointed Asgar Kachwalla as branch manager of its Wellington site. Asgar, who joined Turners Auctions in 2003, was previously national accounts manager and received the Turners Auctions Customer Service Award in 2007.
