Patti Butters has been appointed as principal case manager at Wellnz Ltd, a third party provider of healthcare, and wellbeing services in New Zealand. She is currently manager of the company's southern region, covering the whole of the South Island, and will continue in this role concurrently with her new position.
Patti has more than 20 years experience in injury case management work within the insurance industry, and with third party providers.
Cliff McCord, right, formerly principal case manager, has been appointed general manager, marketing and development with Wellnz. McCord joined Wellnz in 1997 and has had led the case management team through the changes associated with the previous privatised environment, and more recently with the Accredited Employer Programme.
Specialist IT Business Intelligence consultancy company Stellar Consulting Group has appointed John McDermott as principal consultant. Prior to joining Stellar, John held senior consulting positions at Hewlett Packard and Cap Gemini New Zealand and worked in various business intelligence consulting roles across UK and Asia.
New Zealand hire equipment leader, Hirepool, has appointed Mike Staal as manager of the new Henderson Rentals Branch in Wellington. Staal, previously operations manager at Turners Auctions, has been in the commercial vehicle rental industry for eight years, starting as a customer services representative at NZ Rent a Car.
Sherwyn Williams, who has specialised in construction law for over 25 years, has recently retired from the partnership at Kensington Swan and has moved into a consultancy role at the firm. He will continue to advise clients, but is also available for appointment as arbitrator or construction adjudicator. He is on the Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute's panels of arbitrators and adjudicators.
John Baird has been appointed as operations manager at RaboPlus. He is responsible for the customer call centre and back office operations, and will also manage new product deployments. He was previously a project manager at AXA, and was also on the project team that established Kiwibank where he was responsible for developing the back office.
Owen Hallmark has also joined RaboPlus as the marketing manager responsible for offline advertising, campaign management and promotion of managed funds. He was previously at The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand working on both their brand and programme specific advertising.
Minter Ellison Rudd Watts has announced the arrival of Tom Fail, James Douglas and Richard Wells to the firm.
Fail joins the firm with specialist banking and finance law experience and has advised lenders and borrowers on a wide range of secured and unsecured financing transactions. He has particular expertise in the finance, construction and commercial aspects of major project and project finance transactions. He was previously with Mayne Wetherell in Auckland and has also held senior roles with Allen and Overy LLP in London and Singapore. He joins the firm's banking and finance division in the Auckland office.
Douglas is an insolvency and financial restructuring expert specialising in the litigation, arbitration and mediation of commercial disputes, including disputes arising out of corporate joint ventures, debt financings, derivatives and corporate insolvencies.
He returns to Minter Ellison Rudd Watts after several years in London working for magic circle and top tier US firms - most recently as a partner in the leading financial restructuring practice of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. He joins the firm's litigation and insolvency team in the Wellington office.
Wells specialises in intellectual property with broad experience across several jurisdictions. He advises on the protection, enforcement and commercialisation of IP rights, and on transactional IP matters, and has managed global and regional IP portfolios for multi-national companies. He returns to New Zealand following a successful career with De Beers, as Intellectual Property Counsel, and with Linklaters as a managing associate in their Intellectual Property and Technology Department in London. Based in Auckland, Richard is working across the IP and corporate and commercial teams.
All three are in the process of completing Law Society requirements to become partners.
Australasian employment strategy company ATS Consulting has announced the appointments of Simon Pomeroy and Todd August as directors. Both will work with existing clients across New Zealand and Australia, advising on employee attraction and engagement strategies. Both continue in their current roles - Pomeroy as manager of Air New Zealand's recruitment function and August as head of agency at TMP Worldwide in Australia.
Rod Smith has joined Knight Coldicutt Barristers & Solicitors as litigation partner and team leader. He joined the firm in March 2008 to head its general commercial and civil litigation practice as a value-added service for existing property and commercial clients and to develop the practice as part of the firms core services. Practising for 16 years, Smith gained his experience as a commercial litigation solicitor in reputable law firms in Auckland, Wellington, Blenheim and Melbourne.
Skycity Auckland Casino is pleased to announce the appointment of Tina Davies to the role of loyalty segment manager. Her role will focus on the high value segment of SKYCITYs gaming business. She comes to SKYCITY after spending the past seven years working in the United Kingdom for a number of companies including Prudential, GE Capital, Barnardos, and NatWest Bank. Her most recent role, with T-Mobile, involved developing and implementing a CRM (customer relationship management) initiative to increase loyalty in the customer base.
Nikki Milea has joined Pohlen Kean as an executive consultant. She has worked in recruitment for the past ten years and has been involved in all facets of consulting and recruitment Business management. Most recently Nikki founded Lime Recruitment Ltd.
