Tony Holden has been appointed Television New Zealand's general manager commissioning and production. Over the past 30 years he has been involved in shows such as Radio With Pictures, and, more recently, Spin Doctors.

Sharon Henderson, the new chief executive officer of direct marketing agency AIM Proximity, has been managing director of an Australian sister company. Robert Lim remains managing director of AIM Proximity in Auckland, and Lance Walker moves up to managing director, Wellington.

Glenice Whittle has been appointed franchise manager for CACI Group. She has long experience in franchising.

Mark Wierzbicki is Gen-i's new principal architect for content management. He is a former general manager of INL's internet team.

Murray McLachlan has joined Right Management Consultants as a senior consultant. He has extensive specialist experience at executive director level in career transition and outplacement.

David Allen has been appointed chief executive of Business Travel International. He was previously managing director, New Zealand and Australia South Pacific Sales, of Global Distribution System Sabre Pacific.

Vanessa Abbott-Martin is a new account manager, Auckland, for Certus Consulting. She has had more than eight years in senior IT industry account management and business development roles.

Nikki Pender has joined the Commerce Commission as senior counsel within the legal services branch. She previously worked for Crisp & Associates in Sydney.

Sean Farquhar is the new chief operating officer for Vacation Management business in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. He was regional operations director at Hospitality Marketing Concepts, a Singapore-based hotel loyalty membership organisation.

David Campbell is chief operating officer for Serco Australia, a newly established role. He joined Serco New Zealand in 1994 as marketing manager and became managing director in 1998. Peter Iles, currently change director and with Serco for the past five years, is the new managing director for Serco New Zealand.

Malcolm Abbott has joined AIS St Helen's as head of international business programmes. At Victoria University he was a senior lecturer in economics.

Wellington accountant Roger Taylor has been appointed to the board of Gisborne-based electricity lines company Eastland Networks. He was chairman of Central Power, in Palmerston North, before its merger with PowerCo two years ago.

Bruce Trangmar has joined MWH New Zealand as business development manager for MWH's international projects group. He was the manager of the international business group at Landcare Research NZ.

Former Beca senior associate planner Iain McManus has established his own planning practice, Iain McManus Planning Consultant. He will specialise in statutory and development planning.

Rod Lingard has been appointed a principal consultant to the expanding employment relations team at The Empower Group. For the past 10 years he has operated the Lingard Labour Markets consultancy.

Patrida Sola is the new business development manager for Ockwell Customised Learning Solutions. She has a recruitment and sales background and was previously with Drake International.

Kate Kearins has been appointed professor of management at Auckland University of Technology. Her main research interests are sustainability and engagement of stakeholders. Keith Hooper has been appointed professor of financial accounting and joins the postgraduate group at AUT. He has taught at Waikato, Manchester and Massey universities.

Gavin Hazelden has joined MJ Blomfield to head its consulting group in Auckland. He has just completed a nine-month assignment with Origin Pacific Airways as general manager marketing.

Glenn Daniels has been appointed general manager Heritage Hanmer Springs. He was previously general manager of Abbey Lodge Dunedin. Tim Pollock is the new general manager of Heritage Queenstown after being the general manager of Heritage Hanmer Springs.

Darrell Colmore-Williams, who was formerly of Aon Consulting NZ, has joined Point Financial Services Group. He has had more than 10 years in the financial services industry.
