The new head of DaimlerChrysler commercial vehicles is Ian Walker from Britain. Walker becomes general manager sales operations for all commercial vehicle operations at DaimlerChrysler NZ.

Stewart Gibbs has joined PeopleSoft Global Services as business manager for New Zealand. The firm has also appointed Lachlan Downing as client executive, based in Wellington. Gibbs has more than 20 years' experience in the IT industry and has been with PeopleSoft since 2000. The company has appointed Maureen O'Sullivan as its global services client executive based in Auckland. Debbie Graham & Associates has appointed Jo-Anne Baines and Craig Offwood to their Auckland-based consulting team. Baines specialises in recruiting for the accounting, legal, financial services and insurance industries and Offwood has more than 10 years' experience in investment banking, funds management and financial-services sectors.

Brett Williams has been appointed director, learning and assessment, at the Institution of Professional Engineers. Williams had previously been involved in accreditation and quality assurance of educational programmes at the Qualifications Authority.

Svend Petersen has been appointed managing director at Roche Products (NZ). Petersen was previously business-development director for the firm. Former managing director Rob Mitchell is taking up the same job in Thailand.

Rick Bettle has been appointed to the board of directors at Hosting and Datacentre Services (HdS). Bettle is chairman of Dominion Finance and Eastern Hi Fi. Dale Stevens has been appointed HdS national sales manager, and Jason Porter has been appointed delivery manager. He has 13 years' IT experience.
