Murray McAlonan, former director-general of Forestry for the Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry has been appointed to the board of the Forest Industry Contractors Association. Prior to his role with MAF, McAlonan was general manager, Forestry, with Carter Holt Harvey. He also served 16 years on the executive committee of the NZ Forest Owners Association, including a term as president.

Flight Centre has appointed Tom Beyer as e-commerce leader, responsible for launching and growing Flight Centre's online businesses in New Zealand. Beyer worked for Air New Zealand as programme leader and before that he helped create an online learning system at Auckland University.
