Wendell Dunn, foundation professor of entrepreneurship and head of the graduate school of business at the University of Auckland, has been appointed to the Government's Growth and Innovation Advisory Board. The board was established in 2002 to foster active discussion between the public and private sectors about growth and innovation and New Zealand's economic direction. It reports to the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Rachel Steel has rejoined Buddle Findlay as a senior solicitor in the litigation team in Auckland. Steel specialises in employment law and has spent five years working in the employment team at Salans in London. Before that, she worked as a litigator in Buddle Findlay's Wellington office. Myles O'Brien has rejoined the firm as a senior solicitor in the Auckland financial services team. Before rejoining, O'Brien spent two years contracting to the Insolvency Service, an executive agency of the Department of Trade and Industry in Britain where he investigated insolvent companies and their directors.
