The Spencer on Byron Hotel has appointed Graham Hill as regional director of sales and marketing. Hill will also serve Castle Resorts as regional director of sales and marketing for Australia and New Zealand. He has worked here and abroad in hotel managerial positions, with companies such as Intercontinental Hotels Group, Plaza Hotels New Zealand, Newmans Holidays and Horizon Holidays.

Martin Wiseman, a partner in law firm Phillips Fox, has been appointed to the firm's Australasian board. He joins Wellington partner, John Strahl, who was appointed chairman of the board in 2002.

Investment and finance group St Laurence has appointed Helen Mexted to the new position of director, group marketing. She was head of marketing in Tower's investment business, plus has held senior roles at Contact Energy, BP, the Lotteries Commission and Telecom.

Leading transtasman commercial law firm Phillips Fox has appointed property specialist Nick Cross as a senior associate. Cross is an honours graduate from the University of Otago, and his background includes commercial property experience in Australia and Britain.

The National Heart Foundation has appointed Meliame Cocker as Pacific Community Services Co-ordinator. Cocker has been with the Foundation since 2003, working as a heart health presenter with the high-risk Pacific Island community.
