Hamilton based Livestock Improvement has appointed Tessa Fraser as business information unit manager. Previously she was working for the company as a business development manager and export development manager.

Maureen Jackson has been appointed product development manager for Livestock Improvement's newest business unit, Traceability. Previously she was a member of the company's IT team. The organisation's innovation manager is Dr Suzanne Bertrand who comes from North Carolina where she held a position as senior scientist and director of project management at ArrayXpress.

The company has also appointed Scott Ballinger as laboratory operations manager and John Stubbs as commercial manager of GeneMark, a DNA analysis service. Ballinger worked for Hill Laboratories for 11 years and Stubbs was commercial manager of Superair, an aerial spraying company owned by Balance fertiliser.

Paul Billing has joined the tax division of Blackmore Virtue & Owens, chartered accountants, as a senior associate. He has previously worked as a tax manager for Price Waterhouse and was a founding member of NSA.

Jason Lines has been appointed sales and account manager of travel commerce firm Sabre Pacific NZ. Lines has spent nine years in the travel industry in agency management and sales positions, more recently being office manager for a division of Dunedin's Brooker United Travel.

First Assistance has appointed Kate Alsweiler as human resources manager. Her previous employment was at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts as a solicitor in its employment law team.
