KEY POINTS:
Former Act MP Stephen Franks is seeking to run for the National Party in the affluent seat of Wellington Central at the next election.
Mr Franks, who was ejected from Parliament in 2005 when Act got enough votes for only two MPs, told the Weekend Herald he had been wooed by National before but felt the time was right to put his name forward for selection.
Wellington Central is one of the highest-income electorates in the country and it has been held by Labour's Marian Hobbs since 1999.
