A schoolboy charged with the murder of Chris Currie, who was killed when a concrete block was thrown on to his car, has made a third court appearance.
The 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was supported by about 15 family and friends at Manukau District Court.
Wearing a black fleece jacket and jeans, the teenager spoke only when Judge Heather Simpson made him identify each of his supporters in the public gallery.
Taupo man Chris Currie, 20, was killed instantly when an 8kg concrete block was thrown from an overbridge on the southern motorway, crashing through his car windscreen.
The teenager faces an additional charge of endangering transport, relating to the safety of three female passengers who were injured in the incident in August.
He was remanded in the custody of CYFS before a pre-trial call over hearing on October 18.
