Motorist fights police

Several police officers, five members of the public and pepper spray were required to subdue a motorist who attacked police when pulled over last night.

Police officers fought with a man for 15 minutes in front of his two young children after pulling him over on Ferndown Ave in Papatoetoe for a routine traffic stop.

One witness said the motorist was "huge, and pretty angry".
